"Literally thousands of us have been waiting for this book. Having just read it, I can joyfully say it is worth the wait. Lee Albert has been my go-to healer for 20 years. Dancing and teaching yoga on thinly disguised concrete floors for over 30 years has created all kinds of foot issues, knee issues, hip and back issues in my body. Lee has worked his healing magic through all my setbacks, constantly realigning me back to wellness. Lee long ago transformed the way I practice and teach yoga. His knowledge of the human body is vast. The way he works with and writes about the body is profoundly simple and simply profound.
I love this book; the diagrams are clear; the content excellent. Lee's gentle, kind, chocolate-loving spirit comes through each page. He is the real deal.
As a teacher, I will put Yoga for Pain Relief on my required reading lists for my students and trainees. As a practitioner, I will refer to it often.
Thank you, Lee, for all you do for us!"
-Megha Nancy Buttenheim, CEO & Founding Director of Let Your Yoga Dance, long-time teacher trainer of Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, Director of Movement & Meditation at the Wholebeing Institute of Positive Psychology
"An excellent book for Yoga students, Yoga teachers and non-Yoga practitioners seeking relief from pain. Yoga for Pain Relief focuses on the key structural/pain issues facing this western culture. The healing activities to remedy the conditions are direct and easy to follow."
-Sudha, 30-year Yoga teacher
"Lee Albert has been a Kripalu Center phenom for many years. His one-on-work is widely known to generate dramatic results, often healing longstanding and chronic problems in a single session. His group programs are equally popular, teaching people how to produce these results on their own. Lee's work is an important part of yoga's evolution to better meet contemporary needs. I highly recommend this inviting, easy-to-read book to yoga students, yoga teachers and anyone seeking relief from pain."
-Richard Faulds, former President and CEO of Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, author of Kripalu Yoga: A Guide to Practice On and Off the Mat
"An informative, digestible, easy-to-read book with an important message about gentle and appropriate asana practice that's very much needed nowadays. The anatomy and physiology information is quite useful for helping readers skillfully navigate yoga practices for pain relief; the inclusion of soothing pranayama and meditation are valuable."
-Larissa Carlson, Yoga Teacher and Ayurvedic Practitioner
